National Chapter Report (2018-19) Greetings from India. This is a brief Report of activities of “Religions for Peace India” for the period from April 2018 to March 2019.India is a founder member of WCRP and ACRP. The source of our inspiration and interest in multi-religious approach to find solution to various problems springs from the age-old belief in, what we call, “Sarva Dharma Smabhava” (Equal respect for all religions).  “Unity in Diversity” is India’s national creed. “Ahimsa Paramo Dharma” (Nonviolence is the Ultimate Righteousness) is yet another ancient exhortation we all believe in. Against Human Trafficking

RfP Philippines 2017Against Human TraffickingAfter the Manila Conference on Human Trafficking, an assessment-network meeting was conducted. This time, the meeting includes only the 3 centers that caters to trafficked women and children, and the She Works, the organization that handles the community re-integration of trafficked women, and other key partners with resources and expertise. That meeting has resulted to the following activities:1. Saptari Projects by RFP Nepal

Saptari Projects by RFP Nepal together withRFP International and ACRP2017-2018Nepal Floods 2017Nepal has been hit by one natural disaster after another. It was Earthquake in 2015 and in 2017, it was the flood. The Terai region of Nepal was most affected by the floods. There was continuous rise in the water level in various major rivers in Tarai districts caused by nonstop rainfall for manydays. Many people died and lot many were displaced.As the focus of relief efforts have been centered on responding to the earthquake, survivors of flooding and landslides outside of Kathmandu Valley did not received essential support. Street Drama and Video on Child Marriage Prevention

Child marriage Prevention is an important issue, RFP Nepal together with RFP International andACRP thought of giving further continuity on it. We decided to do a street drama in Saptari.We contacted a production company who had an ample experience in conducting such street dramas and also visualizing films. We asked them for a script which was later approved by a program officer in UNICEF, Ms. Sanju Bhattarai.
