Happy World Environment Day

On this World Environment Day, Professor Azza Karam, Secretary General of Religions for Peace stresses about how “It is time for us to invest in the health of our planet,” and why we need to beat plastic pollution.Religions for Peace continues to impact the environment by mobilising religious leaders and communities to take action for sustainability, raising awareness for the importance of environmental stewardship and fostering interfaith cooperation in tackling ecological challenges.

Religions for Peace Japan Youth Committee 50th Anniversary

The Youth Committee of RfP Japan, which was established on May 15, 1973, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.To commemorate the 50th anniversary, a “Prayer Gathering, Commemorative Ceremony and Symposium” was held on Saturday, May 13 at Sanjusangendo, Rissho Kosei-kai Kyoto Dharma Center and via internet broadcast, with 350 participants.It was an opportunity for the youth generation to gather with their predecessors and seniors who laid the foundation of the Youth Committee, to celebrate the 50th anniversary, and to experience the joy of meeting and talking with each other.We look forward to your continued support for the Youth Committee.

Asia & the Pacific Interfaith Youth Network released Hiroshima Statement

Asia & the Pacific Interfaith Youth Network (APIYN) delegates visited Hiroshima, Japan, from May 9 to 11 and participated in the G7 Hiroshima Summit Prayer and Symposium by Religious Leaders organized by Religions for Peace Japan on May 10.All speakers and participants discussed conflict resolution and nuclear abolition not only in Japan but also with young Asian religious leaders who are the leaders of the future. Before the symposium, APIYN members visited Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. From WCRP/RfP Japan to Prime Minister Kishida- A Recommendations for Hiroshima G7

On May 15, eight representatives of WCRP/RfP Japan, headed by Ven. Yoshiharu Tomatsu, the Chairperson of the interfaith group, met with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at his official residence in Tokyo. The religious leaders handed him a written recommendation for the G7 Summit meeting in Hiroshima.
