Religions for Peace Asia (ACRP) is pleased to announce that Asia-Pacific Women of Faith Network (APWoFN) will celebrate Internation Women’s Day on March 8th, 2022.
International Women’s Day (known as IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD is celebrated from individuals to small groups and large organizations worldwide.
The United Nation stated that the theme for International Women’s Day is, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow” (the campaign theme is #BreakTheBias), recognizing the contribution of women of all ages around the world who are leading the charge on responding to Climate Change, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all.
We are happy to invite you to celebrate International Women’s Day and to support the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all under the theme of International Women’s Day 2022.
