Dr. Suphatmet Yunyasit

Lecturer, Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, Mahidol University, Thailand/Secretary-General, Religions for PeaceInterreligious Council of Thailand.

Dr. Suphatmet Yunyasit is a lecturer in the field of conflict and peace studies, Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, Mahidol University, Thailand.

She also serves as Secretary-General, Religions for Peace-Interreligious Council of Thailand and has just been appointed by Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Thailand’s representative in ASEAN Women Peace Registry which is closely linked with ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation.

Her current project focuses on the participation and roles of the Buddhists of the South in conflict transformation and peacebuilding.

Her research interests and expertise include conflict transformation in Thailand and Southeast Asian contexts, inter-ethnic/religious and majority-minority interaction in a multicultural society, freedom of religion or belief, and cultural rights of minority groups.
