Mr. Lawrence Chong was appointed as Asian Conference of Religions for Peace (ACRP)EC Member and Host Country Chairperson

30th May Colombo, Sri Lanka: The Asian Conference of Religions for Peace(ACRP), the region’s preeminent interreligious network, is pleased to welcome Mr. Lawrence Chong as an EC member and recognize him as the Host Country Chairman for the next Governance Assembly, which will be held in Singapore in 2026. 

The ACRP founding general assembly was held in Singapore in 1976, marking a significant milestone in bringing religions together for peace. In two years, the august body, which comprises interreligious member organisations in 40 countries, will celebrate 50 years. It is with great anticipation and privilege that ACRP will host its next governance assembly in Singapore, a testament to the city’s role in fostering interreligious harmony. 

Lawrence Chong served as a youth moderator for ACRP from 2007 to 2013. He has two decades of experience in interreligious dialogue. He is currently serving as a consultor on the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue and isa council member of Interreligious Organisation Singapore.
