ACRP Responds to Environmental Crisis

Beijing, China. Religious leaders have the moral responsibility to respond and combat the environmental crisis. ACRP celebrates its 40th Anniversary

Kyoto, Japan. Religions for Peace Asia, also known as the Asian Conference of Religions for Peace, has commemorated its 40th anniversary through an interfaith gathering with the theme “How to Respond to Violent Extremism in the Name of Religion?” on 26th October 2016 at the Kyoto International Community House.
The conference highlights the continuing advocacy of Religions for Peace to promote interfaith dialogue at various levels in countering religious extremism.

Twenty years ago on 8 July 1996, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a historic Advisory Opinion that stated: “The threat or use of nuclear weapons would generally be contrary to the rules of international law applicable in armed conflict, and in particular the principles and rules of humanitarian law. …There exists an obligation to pursue in good faith and bring to a conclusion negotiations leading to nuclear disarmament in all its aspects under strict and effective international control.” […]
