Religions for Peace Asia is please to announce that the Asia Pacific Women of Faith Network will hold the seminar on Peacebuilding and Reconciliation on March 9th, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM Japan Standard Time (Check your regional time)
Asia Pacific Women of Faith Network has had three main projects since 2022: Anti-Human Trafficking, Climate Change, and Peacebuilding and Reconciliation. Previously, we have conducted projects on Anti-Human Trafficking and Climate Change. As the last project of this fiscal year, we will hold a seminar on Peacebuilding and Reconciliation under the theme “Enhancing Women’s Participation in Peacebuilding and Reconciliation in Asia.”More than two decades after the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 in 2000, many constructive changes have taken place in women’s participation in peacebuilding and Reconciliation in different parts of the world. In Asia, women are still underrepresented in the official peacebuilding and reconciliation processes despite playing strong and active roles at the grassroots and community levels and in the civil society sector.
We must strengthen our peacebuilding and reconciliation actions to ensure that we listen to women’s voices and address the issues they raise.
