Message from Yoshinori Shinohara

ACRP warmly welcomes your participation in the 10th ACRP Assembly!

ACRP will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026. At the inaugural ACRP Assembly in Singapore in 1976, where ACRP was founded, its mission became clear. The mission arose not from conference rooms, but from concrete actions for peace. During the Assembly that time, boat people refugees drifted into the Singapore Harbor. Witnessing this, ACRP religious leaders immediately chartered ships as shelters and provided aid to the refugees. This action shaped the very soul of ACRP’s activities.

Since then, ACRP has seen religious leaders collaborate to implement peace activities across the Asia-Pacific region, including conflict resolution, nuclear disarmament, poverty eradication, global environmental protection, and refugee support. Underpinning these activities is ACRP’s traditional passion: to earnestly save the individual just in front of us and bring harmony and peace to society and the world.

The world may be horrified by one conflict and violence after another, and even feel a sense of hopelessness. It is precisely in this bleak and difficult international climate that the messages and actions of trust, dialogue, cooperation, reconciliation, and forgiveness become all the more necessary. Many people are undoubtedly longing for peace. We believe that it is the mission of religious leaders to send out a message of encouragement, solidarity, and action to these people without ceasing.

The 10th ACRP Assembly, to be held in November 2026, marks an opportunity to embark on a new journey towards ACRP’s 100 years anniversary. There once again, it is through the efforts of religious leaders that a beacon of hope and courage will be delivered to the world. ACRP sincerely hopes to collaborate and cooperate with many well-meaning individuals and organizations in this great challenge.

If nothing is done, nothing will change.
We wholeheartedly welcome your participation.
