Dr. Lilian Sison is Director of International Relations and Programs at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. She has wide experience in University administration including senior academic and administrative posts as Dean of the Graduate School and Vice Rector of Academic Affairs and Research. She has spent the past 30 years in academic development work leading and managing a range of diverse portfolios from research, curricular reforms, faculty development, internationalization and graduate education. She has also provided consultancy work for the Governments’ Commission on Higher Education in high level policy formulation for the national manpower development for Higher Education Institutions and in Chemistry Education. She has a PhD in Chemistry and holds the rank of full professor. She was conferred by UST the outstanding alumna award.

In addition to her academic work, Dr. Sison is engaged in faith-based advocacy in her capacity as Secretary General of Religions for Peace (RfP), Philippines and Chair of the Asia Pacific Women of Faith Network. She organized multi-faith action programs and capacity building projects on mental health and trauma healing for women groups, the internally displaced youth and the armed forces of the Philippines in the conflict areas of Central Mindanao. In addition, she is also engaged in Child Protection programs in partnership with Faith –based communities. Dr. Sison is the Secretary of the Inter-religious Council of the Philippines and has organized inter-faith forums and conferences at the national and international levels. She has served as speaker and panelist in high level meetings and Assemblies on Interfaith Dialogue and Peace conferences in various parts of the World such as Seoul, Incheon, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, New York, Vienna, Rio de Janeiro, Istanbul, Doha, Bandung, Jakarta and Sarajevo. In the recent (2013) World Assembly of RfP in Vienna, she was voted to represent the International Women Coordinating Council to the World Council of Religions for Peace.

Dr. Sison has a PhD in Chemistry and holds the rank of full Professor of Chemistry. Her area of teaching specialization is in the field of Bio-Organic and Environmental Chemistry.
